The Trees Scallop Trinket Tray is a shiny lacquered wood tray with a patterned surface and scalloped edges. Lacquered wood is what separates this from the enamel dishes — it has depth and shine that reads considerably more expensive than the price.
Why You'll Love It
- Lacquered wood, not metal or ceramic — a glossy, layered finish with real depth to it
- Scalloped edges, the detail that makes a plain tray look designed
- A repeating tree pattern rather than a single motif, so it reads as a print rather than a novelty
- Tray rather than dish — flatter and wider, so it holds a watch, glasses or a stack of rings
- Neutral enough to leave out once the season passes

Tray Versus Dish
A trinket dish has sides and holds a small pile. A tray is flat and wide, so things lie out where you can see them — a watch, reading glasses, a phone, a couple of rings side by side. They do different jobs, and plenty of people want both.
Of the three scallop trays, the tree pattern is the most abstract — it reads as a winter print rather than a Christmas character, which is why it's the one likely to stay on a dresser into the new year. The Santa and Nutcracker versions are the more explicitly festive designs.
Frequently Asked Questions

Shiny lacquered wood, with a patterned surface and scalloped edges.
Is it a tray or a dish?
A tray — flat and wide rather than deep, so items lie out rather than pile up.

How should I clean it?
Care instructions aren't published. Lacquered wood is generally best wiped with a dry or barely damp cloth and kept away from standing water — confirm from the packaging.
