Simply Charming is Mud Pie's magnetic charm system: serveware and drinkware with a magnet built in, and small metal charms that snap on and off. Buy the base once, then change the charm as the season changes. One platter carries you from a pumpkin in October to a turkey in November to a Christmas tree in December.
Everything here is at Adelyne's Boutique & Gifts in Tomball, Texas. Bases run $20–$45 and charms are $15.
How the system works
-
Pick a base. A mug, a serving bowl, a paddle board, a platter, a stemless wine glass, or the countdown plaque — each has a magnet built into it.
-
Snap on a charm. The charms are zinc alloy, about an inch across, and they hold firmly with nothing sticky and nothing permanent.
-
Swap whenever you like. Charms are interchangeable across every base, so a charm you buy for the mug also works on the board.
Why people get hooked on it
-
It replaces a closet. Instead of separate Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas serveware, you own one good piece and a drawer of charms.
-
It's a gift that keeps going. Give the board this year, give a charm next year. It's the rare gift you can add to.
-
It solves the hostess-gift problem. A charm is $15, arrives on its own display card, and needs no wrapping.
-
It photographs well on a table — beaded rims, fluted ceramic, a wooden paddle. These don't look like novelty holiday items.
Frequently asked questions
Do the charms fit every Simply Charming piece?
Yes. The charms are interchangeable across the whole Simply Charming line — mugs, bowls, boards, platters, wine glasses and the countdown plaque all use the same magnetic system.
How do the charms attach?
Magnetically. Each base has a magnetic disc built into it and the charm snaps on. There's no adhesive and nothing to damage the piece.
Which Christmas charms do you carry?
Santa, snowman, Christmas tree, nativity and cardinal, at $15 each. The mug and wine glass sets also arrive with four charms included.
What should I buy first?
If it's for yourself, start with the board or the platter — they get the most use. If it's a gift, the mug set or wine glass set is the better opener, because each arrives complete with four charms.
Is it a good gift for someone who has everything?
It's one of our best answers to that problem. Most people don't already own a magnetic charm system, and it's easy to add to in future years.
