What is Brighton jewelry made of?
Brighton builds most pieces on a base of solid brass or zinc alloy, then finishes them in pure silver plating and seals them under a clear protective lacquer. Earring posts, French wires and lever backs are sterling silver (925), and select ring styles are sterling silver stamped 925. Clip-on earrings are crafted from stamped brass. It's plated jewelry engineered to look and wear like fine jewelry at a fraction of the cost.
Does Brighton jewelry tarnish?
Far less than untreated silver. Every piece carries a clear lacquer coating that blocks oxidation. Tarnish problems almost always trace back to something the lacquer wasn't designed to survive — water, perfume, hairspray, lotion, hand sanitizer, makeup, or a silver-cleaning product.
How do I care for my Brighton jewelry?
- After every wear: gently wipe your jewelry with a dry, 100% cotton cloth to remove oils and residue.
- Storage: keep pieces in a clean, dry place away from moisture and humidity.
- Avoid: water, jewelry and silver cleaners, treated polishing cloths, perfume, hairspray, lotion, hand sanitizer and makeup. These strip or cloud the lacquer finish.
- The golden rule: your Brighton should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
- Give it a rest: jewelry isn't designed to be worn 24/7. Tuck pieces away when you're not wearing them.
Brighton also makes a dedicated Jewelry Care product formulated for their lacquer finish — we carry it in store. Follow the included instructions rather than reaching for a general-purpose silver cleaner.
What does the Brighton warranty cover?
Brighton calls it The Brighton Promise:
- Jewelry: a one-year warranty against workmanship and structural defects. If a piece can't be repaired under warranty, Brighton replaces it.
- Registered leather handbags: a two-year warranty against workmanship and structural defects, plus complimentary cleaning and conditioning for the life of the bag.
- Watches: every watch received for repair is fitted with a brand-new battery.

How do I care for Brighton leather?
Brighton makes a leather cleaner and conditioner for their handbags, belts and key fobs. Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and direct heat, and condition it periodically so it stays supple. Cleaning and conditioning are free for the life of your registered Brighton leather handbag.
How do I find my ring size?
Come see us — we'll size you properly in about a minute. If you're buying as a surprise gift, bring in a ring she already wears and we'll match it. Many Brighton ring styles run in sizes 7 through 10, and some styles cannot be resized, so getting the size right the first time matters.
